Customs Union Technical regulations on electromagnetic compatibility of technical equipment (CU TR 020/2011)
Effective from February 15th 2013 by Council Decision of Eurasian Economic Commission on December 09, 2011 number 879.
Products covered by Customs Union regulations.
Electrical equipment which can cause electromagnetic interference or operation of which can be influenced by electromagnetic interference are covered by these technical regulations. Passive devices are no under the CU TR EMC.
Examples of devices covered by CU TR 020/2011
- Home appliances,
- PCs,
- Electrical installations,
- Electrical instruments.
Type of equipment not covered by EMC CU TR
- Wires, cords, cables and cable assemblies.
- Technical facilities containing only resistive load and do not have automatic switching devices, such as household electrical heaters without thermostats.
- Electric batteries and light equipment connected to them without active electronic circuits.
- Headphones and speakers.
- Protective equipment, creating transient electromagnetic interference of short duration.
- High voltage equipment, in which potential sources of electromagnetic interference caused only localized defects of isolation.
- Capacitors, such as capacitors for power factor correction.
- Induction motors.
- Quartz watch (without additional features, such as radio).
- Light bulbs.
- Plugs, sockets, fuses, switches, circuit breakers without active electronic circuits.
- Passive antenna for radio and television broadcasting.
Types of documents needed for conformity compliance:
- Certificate of conformity. Costs from 1000 EUR. Validity period up to 5 years.
- Declaration of conformity. Costs from 250 EUR. Validity period up to 5 years
Both declaration and certificate must be issued on the company registered in Customs Union.
What is needed to issue certificate of conformity:

- European certificates or test report
- The certificate holder registration documents
- Contract between certificate holder and manufacturer

Products subject to certification according to the CU TR 020/2011 usually also covered by CU TR 004/2011 and sometimes 010/2011
